“Washougal is a caring and giving community where everyone is welcomed. The culture is one of helping each other. People are willing to give anything extra they have to help someone in need. In my view, this defines the Washougal community that my family cherishes,” said Janice. She has lived in Washougal and the Pacific Northwest for 24 years. She is married to Mike Davies for the past 23 years. They chose Washougal to raise their two children who were adopted through foster care. Janice and her family attend Northwest Gospel Church. She is actively involved with Northwest Gospel Church Adoptive Parents and volunteers with Cape Horn Skye Boosters, where her children attend school.

“Politics have no place in the classroom. We must get back to the business of delivering high quality education for all of our public school children,” said Janice.

“I’m running for Washougal School Board to place a greater focus on helping our students bridge the gap in learning that was created by school closures during the pandemic,” she said. “Many parents feel that controversial subject matters and political platforms are replacing important education opportunities. As your elected School Board Member, I am fully committed to partnering with our professional educators to deliver the best education opportunities for our children.”
